Valorant System Requirements: Can I Run it?

Valorant game was launched officially in June 2020, right after its beta version in April 2020. Riot games developed and released this masterpiece for their lovers. The Riot description states, “Valorant is free of cost game tailored to function on a broad range of PC hardware drives, allowing a worldwide audience to engage.” Mentioned game is quite interesting in that players will compete for achieving different targets and milestones.

Valorant follows the tactical shooter genre concepts and keeps the gaming experience’s competitive integrity as a new FPS obsession of game lovers. It is a system-compatible game and goes smoothly with almost every system of 2020s without any intensive requirements to meet for running the game. However, certain criteria are to be fulfilled, and we will discuss recommended system specs to run the game here.

valorant system requirements

Required Specs to download and Install

Following are the requirements for running Valorant:

  • Operating System (OS) – Windows 7, Windows 8, or Windows10 (64-bit)
  • Random Access Memory (RAM) – 4GB
  • Video Random Access Memory (VRAM) – 1GB

Initially, the file occupies approximately 3.6 GB of space, and download usually takes a short period to complete. After downloading the game, the system restarts to go with Riot Vanguard, an Anti-cheat system.

Minimum Requirements for Windows PC

CPUIntel i3-370M
RAM4 GB
StorageUp to 8 GB
GPUIntel HD 4000
Operating SystemWindows 7 64-Bit
Direct XRequires Direct X 11

A system with the specs mentioned above is capable of supporting the game easily. However, don’t anticipate much from it because it would not offer you far more than 40 frames per second.

Minimum Requirements for Mac OS

The Valorant has not yet been released for MAC devices, so there are no official system requirements for it to run. There are a few solutions for running the game on a Mac system, such as installing Windows on your Mac via software, for instance, Bootcamp.

Unfortunately, there is no information about the Valorant’s release on MAC. In the future, we might expect to play this Game on MAC as well, but we can’t answer conclusively for the time being.

On a 1080p screen resolution, the following system specs are more than sufficient to run your game at 60 fps with perfection. However, a variety of in-game graphical settings need tuning to suit the gamer’s priorities accordingly.

CPUIntel i3-4150
RAM6GB or more
StorageUp to 8 GB
GPUGeForce GT 730 or more
Operating SystemWindows 7, Windows 8, Windows 10 (64 bit)
Direct XDirectX 11
Resolution1920 × 1080

Valorant can now run on a broader range of PCs, thanks to its compatibility with Windows 7. This also indicates that Valorant can operate even at 30 frames per second if you meet the minimal requirements.

CPUIntel i3-370M
RAM4GB or more
StorageUp to 8 GB
GPUIntel HD 3000 (1GB VRAM)
Operating SystemWindows 7, Windows 8, Windows 10 (64 bit)
Direct XDirectX 11
Resolution1920 × 1080
Pixel Shader3.0
Vertex Shader3.0

Valorant’s required PC specifications are so low that if your system is not strong enough to load up this web page efficiently, it can still meet the minimum criteria to run this game. The Intel Core i3 370M it mentions is a ten-year-old laptop CPU. TEN YEARS HAVE PASSED. It’s almost like a relic. It also lacks the graphics chips required to meet the other minimal requirements, thus even if you had an i3 370M laptop, it would probably not run Valorant, but an i3 notebook from the past seven years would.

Intel HD 3000 silicon is specified as the Valorant’s minimum spec GPU to run the game at 30fps; this is the same GPU component of the Sandy Bridge CPUs from 2011. The HD 3000 GPU was the only top-ranked Sandy Bridge chip at that time, but any mobile processor from the period of 2013 onwards should be able to handle the task with ease.

Valorant will run at 60 frames per second if you have the necessary hardware. Additional Valorant system requirements are below:

CPUIntel i3-4150
RAM4GB or more
StorageUp to 8 GB
GPUGeForce GT730
Operating SystemWindows 7, Windows 8, Windows 10 (64 bit)
Direct XDirectX 11
Resolution1920 × 1080
Pixel Shader3.0
Vertex Shader3.0

If you wish to play Valorant at 60 frames per second, you’ll need a desktop Core i3 CPU. Approximately six years ago. The Intel Core i3 4150 had a dual-core, four-thread processor with a 3.5GHz clock speed. Anything that comes close to it, and you’re good to go for it.

The suggested spec for 60 frames per second requires an Nvidia GT730 graphics card, which was released about six years ago. Trying to get one of those new is a bit more expensive option, but the current counterpart, the GT 1030, will suffice. The RX 550 is AMD’s equivalent, and its functions are pretty improved compared to other versions.

For the ultimate user experience, the height of the performance level that can uplift your gaming is 144+ FPS. The system requirements for these settings include:

The highest level of performance available for Valorant is 144+ FPS and, to achieve this, you need the following specifications:

CPUIntel i5-4460 3.2 GHz
RAM4GB or more
StorageUp to 8 GB
GPUGTX 1050 Ti
Operating SystemWindows 7, Windows 8, Windows 10 (64 bit)
Direct XDirectX 11
Resolution1920 × 1080
Pixel Shader5.0
Vertex Shader5.0

General requirements for the golden threshold of 144+ FPS include a quad-core processor, Intel Core i5 CPU with four-thread. Even if current i3s have quad-core processors with faster clock rates, this is still a lesser than required processor.

The Nvidia GTX 1050 Ti is Riot’s recommendation for running Valorant in 144+ FPS. If you’re a die-hard GeForce player, go with it or the GTX 1650 if it’s about the same price, but if you don’t care about the brand, the superb AMD RX 570 will also outperform.

Gaming Expert’s Recommendation

If you’re looking to construct a gaming PC for Valorant to keep up with it, then our suggestions are perfect for you.

We propose the Intel i5 third-generation CPU (i5-3470) with an Nvidia GTX 960 2 GB graphics card and eight gigabytes of DDR3 RAM. You will get about 120 frames per second at 1080p (1920×1080) display resolution with the following specifications.

For the people who have an older system and are unsure if it will support Valorant, they need to look at the specs of their system and compare them to the Valorant baseline requirements for optimal functioning.

A Brief Gameplay of Valorant

Riot Games’ Valorant is a famous strategic first-person shooter game. This game is a hybrid of many popular games, including Fortnite, Counter-Strike, and Apex Legends. The traditional Valorant Game begins with two teams of five players, each playing like CS. in this case, and each member of the squad possesses a special talent that proves handy in an emergency.

The attackers are one of the teams, and they are supposed to put spike at one of the map’s locations. On the map, there are two spike locations (A and B). The opposing squad is known as the defenders. To prevent the spikes from being planted, they must obstruct the locations and avoid battle intruders. They can destroy the spike by taking down their adversaries once they are set.

At the beginning of the match, you have a few seconds to spend your in-game credits on buying weaponry and recharging powers. Each participant receives in-game credits based on their success in the game.
