A Comparative Look and Design
The Sensei 310 and Rival-310 were launched concurrently in 2017, both competing for their place in the gaming community. Everyone is now convinced of the growing popularity of Sensei 310. If we compare the characteristics of these two mice, we get to know that the difference lies in their shapes. The Sensei 310 has an ambidextrous quality which means that it can be used both by right-hand users as well as for left-hand users. Contrary to it, the Rival 310 has an ergonomic shape that is suitable only for right-handed users. This gives a clear-cut edge of the Sensei 310 over Rival 310.
The cost, however, is the same for both and you have to select the mouse as per the shape demand i.e. ambidextrous or ergonomic. The contrasting feature is that neither of them uses any whistles or bells and relies solely on pure performance. The Sensei 310 is a little heavier with a weight of 92.1g. It is an excellent medium to a large-sized mouse for claw grippers and palm users.

Buttons, Scroll Wheel, and Cable
The Sensei 310 has two major left and right buttons with a split-trigger design. They use Omron switches that are remarkably great with a life span of 50 million clicks. These switches activate anyway you press them and this happens in Sensei 310 model also. The accidental clicks are also avoided because the buttons are physically separated.
The sound of clicks is not so high and seems to be slightly muted as compared to other mice out there. The clicks are very comfortable, relaxing, and satisfying. There are no delays or almost zero latency with the CPI up to 35000. This is among the best properties of the Sensei 310. However, if your limit exceeds 35000, then there will be a reduction in the performance of the sensor along with less efficiency, so, it must be adjusted properly. But in our opinion, this is not a big issue and it is usually controlled properly.
On the contrary, the Pixart 3360 sensor has zero latency as well but only up to 2100 CPI. If you play at high sensitivity, then this is the better option. We have observed that Sensei 310 works greatly at low to medium sensitivity. So, in moving towards a new mouse, all of its sensitivity options must be kept in mind. Just to keep in mind that Rival 310 also uses the same optical sensor but its efficiency is not as good as Sensei 310. So, overall, the performance of Sensei 310 is fantastic and accurate as compared to all other mice.
Software Experience
The software experience is also wonderful and splendid. We have seen that many great mice become prone to the victims of bad software. Gratefully, the SteelSeries has brought a great revolution in this software dimension as well. The SteelSeries Engine 3 software works amply with this mouse. Its menu handling and navigation tools are easy and smooth to use.
The button remapping is quite simple and easy to comprehend. You can easily reassign any of the 8 buttons as per your requirement. All of the customizations for CPI are on the right side of the mouse. You can only set two CPI levels for this one which is little disappointing contrary to some other mice.
